Completed in 1989 and officially opened in February 1990, to a design by Cameron Chisholm Nicol for the developer F. A. Pidgeon & Son. The tower reads from the river as a smooth curve of glass with rounded ends, capped by a dark cylindrical plant enclosure rather than a spire.
Dexus bought the building in June 2015 for $635 million and now markets it as One Eagle; the old waterfrontplace.com.au address redirects to Dexus. Both names refer to the same tower, which is worth knowing when comparing listings.
Sources disagree on the floor count. Wikipedia gives 40 storeys with 36 lettable floors; Dexus states 36. Published net lettable area is consistently around 60,000sqm, on floorplates of roughly 1,816 to 1,867sqm.
One thing to keep straight: the $2.5 billion Waterfront Brisbane development is the adjacent Eagle Street Pier site, not this building. The pre-commitments and green-rating targets reported in that project belong to the new towers.

More than 7,000 m² pre-committed to Dexus's $2.5bn development on the adjacent Eagle Street Pier site, taking its north tower to 52 per cent committed. These leases are to the NEW towers, not to Waterfront Place.
